‘Four bearded men from Beirut creating music in Deutschland’, reads the Facebook bio of Who Killed Bruce Lee – in it’s not wrong. Wassim Bou Malham, Hassib Dergham, Malek Rizkallah and Pascal Sikris do indeed hail from Lebanon. And they are all beautifully-bearded. But there’s much more than meets the eye to this most unique of electro-punk outfit.

Back by popular demand at Cairo Jazz Club on Thursday 21st December, the group’s seemingly random name is all part of the organised chaos they live on, as CJC fans saw back in January with Who Killed Bruce Lee’s debut.

Having first arrived on Lebanon’s eclectic music scene in 2009, the foursome very quickly established themselves as one of the most out-of-left-field bands around thanks to their particularly memorable, energetic, no-holds-barred live performances. Beyond the Middle East, Who Killed Bruce Lee have made waves abroad,  too, and their gig at Cairo Jaz Club – which will also see Safi take to the stage for his unique brand of Oriental and Afro-infused house – is one of the highlights of an already busy weekend in the city – one not to miss.

For more on gig, as well as Cairo Jazz Club’s other events this week, check out the CJC Facebook.
