Renowned for gathering a host of Cairo’s best culinary destinations, Downtown’s landmark hotel, The Nile Ritz-Carlton, brings the curtains up on the new face of its very own Oriental restaurant, Bab El Sharq. The restaurant, which has always been the place to turn to for the ultimate Oriental experience, returns with a more refined setting, and, of course, a bigger range of sweet and savoury delights.

The outdoor restaurant’s upgraded setting has the good old warmth maintained, but with a more functional vibe added to  it, thanks to the balanced merge between the Oriental and contemporary elements. The view is still as magnificent as ever, capturing The Egyptian Museum in its full glory, as well as one of Cairo’s picturesque districts, Garden City.

When it comes to food, Bab El Sharq never disappoints, especially with the new menu that has been designed by Syrian Chef Nassib to please every Oriental craving. The extensive menu includes various delights from Egypt and the Middle East. From hot/cold mezzehs, salads, and soups, to the classic range of grills, including the all-time favourite Oriental Mix Grill.

Bab El Sharq also recreated an array of authentic savoury items that are cooked inside the equally traditional wood-fired ovens. In addition to the restaurant’s selection of scrumptious desserts, Bab El Sharq has a long list of shisha flavours to choose from.

All of that comes in a wrap of entertainment that includes screening noted sports events and hosting Oriental nights that sees some of the region’s best artists taking to the stage and belly dancers performing. It’s clear that The Nile Ritz-Carlton’s Bab El Sharq has raised the bar when it comes to offering the ultimate Oriental experience.
