Osmanly: Feast Like a Sultan at Award-Winning Restaurant’s New Weekly Buffets

Turkish cuisine is criminally under-represented on Cairo’s otherwise eclectic dining scene. You’d think that, with Turk kitchens sharing much with its Egyptian counterparts, there would be more restaurants representing the foods of the Sublime Porte. You could actually argue that its the similarities between the two that is at the root of the shortage – but that would be misguided.

Yes there are similarities, but its the small, subtle differences that make it what it is – something that multi Cairo 360 Editors’ Choice Award-winning restaurant, Osmanly, understands.

Located at Garden City’s Kempinski Nile Hotel, it’s not only the best Turkish restaurants in town, it’s one of the best period – and you can quote us one that.

But actions speak louder than words and so starting from Monday 4th of September, Osmanly is going to be hosting lavish buffets fit for even the most gluttonous of sultans, twice a week.

Every Monday and Thursday, diners will dive into the finest example of Ottoman dishes you’ll find anywhere in the country. We recommend the Hunkar Begendi – tender lamb leg in tomato sauce slow-cooked for 12 hours and Istanbul favourites, Chicken Topkapi and Iskender Kebab.

But that’s enough talk; for more info and reservations, call +20 2 2798 0000 or check out the Kempinski Nile on Facebook.
