Riverside Ringing with Ramadan Revelries

As they showed during their spectacular second anniversary celebrations in January, the folk at Riverside certainly know how to mark an occasion. The last 12 months has seen the versatile Zamalek venue rise as a hot spot for nightlife, fine dining and entertainment and it’s these three ingredients that Riverside is using to cook up a Ramadan storm.

The theme of Riverside’s Ramadan revelry is nostalgia, as it takes a traditional approach with a little pinch of quintessential ‘Riverside chic’ and a sprinkling of playfulness – the latter coming in the form of décor inspired by Ramadan staples such as Bogey Wi Tamtam and Fatoota.

Offering both fetar and sohour (as well as corporate setups for both), the real jewel in the Riverside Ramadan crown, however, is the long line of entertainment that awaits.  Opening on Friday 10th of June, the first big name to take to the stage is a man that needs no introduction, Abdel Baset Hamouda, who performs on a night that will also see the rapscallions of Mafesh Sa7eb Yatsa7eb.

Throughout the month, other big nostalgia-inducing acts will also e gracing the stage, including Ahmed Adawaya (June 13th and July 1st), Mahmoud El Leithy (June 20th), Hossam Hosny (Thursday 16th, 23ed & 30th) and Hamdy Patchan (Friday 17th & 25th), as well Shabaan ‘Sha3bola’ Abdel Rehim (June 27th).

An oriental takht and DJ take care of the rest of the nights, while the impending European football championships, Euro 2016, will be shown live.

Riverside’s Ramadan tent is set to be one of the most popular this year, boasting an atmosphere that can accommodate both the high-end and the casual, while the kitchen’s Oriental food has been earning rave reviews in recent in months. Throw in the bucket-load of entertainment lined up, a great Nile view and its convenient Zamalek location and you have the complete kheima experience.
