Forget about the usual cuisines you’ve grown used to, it’s time to celebrate the restaurants that have made it their mission to bring the best of two cuisines, and create an outstanding and unique fusion out of both. Here’s to the winners who serve new tastes and flavours to our tables:
Sunset Boat’s sophisticated venue serves the Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei cuisine, which implements Japanese cooking techniques using Peruvian ingredients. What we like about Keji is the endless list of culinary choices, as well as the diverse cocktail menu.
Another venue that brings the Japanese-Peruvian mix to the table, Gezira Plaza’s Izakaya stole our hearts with their fantastic ceviche maki rolls, whose exotic flavour sent us soaring into the sky. Let’s not forget about Izakaya’s range of cocktails, including our favourite, Black Mamba.
Sofitel’s French-Japanese restaurant took it up another notch with a little help from Michelin Star Chef, Laurent Peuguot, and his excellent team, who gave Le Deck the makeover it deserved some years ago. Not only did the revamp include a new menu, but also a new setting that complements the breathtaking view.
From the team behind Sheikh Zayed’s Izakaya, New President Hotel’s Mezcal introduced ‘new age’ Peruvian and Mexican cuisine to the city; offering a spectrum of complex yet flavoursome dishes that can’t be found anywhere else.
