written by

So many restaurants are labelled under International Cuisine, but only a few have made the cut onto our list of distinguished restaurants which offer truly eclectic menus with high quality and authentic feel to each of their food items. This year, we have included some of our favourite spots which guarantee excellent plates from all over the world.

Culina

Located in the Nile Ritz Carlton hotel, Culina is probably one of the best brunch spots in Cairo. Picture this: You are listening to jazz music on an early Friday afternoon while sipping on Sangrias and filling your plate from an international buffet. This tempting image gets even better as the restaurant overlooks the hotel’s garden and the Egyptian Museum.

Kazlak Grill House & Smokery

For all the meat lovers, Kazlak will definitely become your new favourite grill house as soon as you take a bite of the premium meat that they offer. They specialise in steak and American brisket, but there is no doubt that their selection of Italian pasta and grilled chicken will also blow your mind. What helped maintain a spot for Kazlak on our list is the consistently good service and friendly staff that are always happy to help.

Mo Bistro

Making fine dining seem more casual is Mo Bistro’s speciality. The inviting atmosphere is not the only thing that keeps this place on our list, but it’s the attentive service and the extensive menu that doesn’t leave anyone out. From creamy shrimp pasta to South African Capricciosa beef and mouthwatering Filet Bone Marrow, no matter what you are looking for, you can be sure that you will find it on its menu. We recommend you try some of the bite-sized appetisers, and of course, their famous slow-cooked Short Rib.

Crimson

The first Zamalek-located restaurant to win an award is none other than Crimson, where you can have an Asian seafood salad for lunch then try their Fettuccine Porcini Pasta for dinner with a glass of wine. Looking for a romantic date night? A delicious salmon and egg croissant for breakfast with the family? Crimson is the place to go. Aside from being a rooftop bar with a stunning view of the Nile, Crimson has always proved itself as deserving of all the hype it gets. Wait till you see the lit Sambuca!

Ted’s

From cheese platters to gourmet burgers and classic pasta plates, Ted’s eclectic menu has it all. This mix of different international cuisines under one roof started with their first branch opening back in 2015, and ever since, Ted’s has been blessing us with more branches and more deliciousness.

The Smokery

Cementing its name for another year on our list, The Smokery has based its reputation on its wide range of well-executed food options that all feel specially made for you. Add a relaxing interior aesthetic into the mix of scrumptious brunches, fresh seafood, sushi rolls, vegan, and gluten-free dishes, and you have got yourself a dining experience that feels like a full-on vacation!

U Bistro & Bar

Next up is Zamalek’s gem that is hidden in an art deco building. Start your experience as soon as you take the retro elevator into the fabulous décor and atmosphere of the restaurant, and delve into the variety of international food selections that they offer. The menu features a selection of options such as Foie Gras Terrine, Rossini Beef, Quatro Cheese Spinach Ravioli, and many more divine platters.

Aperitivo

When you enter Aperitivo in Zamalek, the large chandelier and the fireplace will give you the feeling that you are in a movie. As it is owned by eatco.eg, which manages locations like Sass and Rakkan, then you can be confident that your average bar experience will be amplified with many food delicacies. Many exotic items are available on the menu, such as the Japanese Wagyu beef, and if you enjoy seafood, you have to try Ahi tuna or the northern red snapper.

Frank & Co.

We couldn’t have an international cuisine list without having at least two contenders from Maadi. If you open their Instagram, you will understand why everyone keeps drooling when they think of their food. The calm and laid-back atmosphere will help you appreciate the huge array of their distinctive Italian, Middle Eastern, Greek, and Thai plates.

Casper & Gambini’s

With branches in almost every mall, Casper & Gambini’s has been satisfying hungry shoppers for quite some time now. Try their cashew chicken or the Asian sesame chicken salad, and if you tuck into poultry dishes that are low in calories, you can continue your shopping spree without feeling bloated.

La Taberna

Located in Guezira Plaza, La Taberna is a strong contender that combines both partying and fine dining. Their diverse menu will have you cancelling your post-party fast food session to try their Fiesta De Comida sections or one of their yummy salads.

Good Stuff Eatery

Last on our list is the American-based burger place that got everyone in the capital super stoked when it first opened in Galleria40. Its casual American feel is enhanced by the red indoor seating and small sauce bar. Their milkshakes and seasoned fries are must-haves!
