With Mouled El Nabi knocking on the door, everyone is ready for the delicious Mouled sweets. Now is the time for every year’s argument over who makes them best. Here is a guide to the best local pastry shops offering Mouled sweets this year.

 

El Abd Patisserie

This classic one always delivers the best goodies. The boxes in El Abd range from EGP 150 to 3200, varying according to the number of items, sizes, and the diversity of flavours. The regular boxes start from EGP 150 and go up to EGP 1200. While the special tin boxes stand out with their walnut malban, along with more diverse flavours and items, and come in two sizes, priced at EGP 1,500 and EGP 2,500.

They also offer Special Gift Boxes that are colour-coded and great for special occasions and treating loved ones, ranging from EGP 1,500 to 3,200. All that, in addition to a fun Mouled Bites box for EGP 420, which includes mini-bites from most of the flavours. And for a fun decorative piece, they also offer a wooden Arouset El Mouled box that contains a wide variety of mini-pieces and a pleasant Mouled aesthetic.

 

Tseppas

Another classic for Mouled sweets dropped their products this year. At Tseppas, the regular boxes start at EGP 111 and go up to EGP 333, including regular and toffee flavours. Another category is the Premium boxes, which range from EGP 1,295 to 2,600 for the large box, including more unconventional flavours such as Jersey pineapple and espresso milk rolls. While the highest category is the Lux box, which stands out with the number of items and the amount of nuts used. They come in three sizes: the small is EGP 555, the medium is EGP 666, and the large is EGP 888.

 

Etoile

Etoile also offers a variety of boxes with prices starting from as low as EGP 110, all the way up to EGP 4,900. The Prime boxes start from 10 pieces to 47 pieces. While the Elite boxes pick up the pace, increasing from 38 pieces to 69 pieces, they cost more than the Prime boxes. There are also special editions available at Etoile, including the Al-Mahrousa box and Al-Muizz box, as well as the Mouled VIP tray and a leather Mouled box.

 

Abu Auf

Abu Auf is relatively new to the game, but just as good, with two Mouled boxes and three Mouled Deluxe boxes, ranging between EGP 720 and EGP 2000, with a good assortment of sweets, varying in quantity.

Exception Pastry

Exception Pastry is the only one offering a kids’ box of Mouled sweets for this year! The kids’ box contains 15 pieces and costs EGP 150. They also have five Lux boxes, in addition to two Premium boxes and one tin box, ranging in price from EGP 175 to EGP 1,488 and varying in quantity and flavours.

 

Sedra

The perfect sweetness of Sedra seeps into their Mouled sweets as well, with six boxes of pure treats, ranging between EGP 170 and EGP 1450, all of which come with a wide selection of Mouled sweets. They are also known for their special soft sweets, such as malban and jelly pieces.

 

Abdel Rahim Koueider

 

This absolute classic offers various boxes that differ in quantity, flavours, and fun names. From Arouset El Mouled to El Leila El Kebira and El Sultan, you’ll be taken through the original fairytale with Abdel Rahim Koueider. Their products range from EGP 100 to EGP 8000.

 

Disca

An absolute hidden gem for high-quality and tasty desserts located around Misr El-Gedida, Disca takes Mouled sweets to a whole new level. With prices ranging from EGP 100 to EGP 1,500, Disca offers an assortment of Mouled boxes that include the Na2na2a box for a quick taste, costing only EGP 100, Lux boxes, Elite wooden boxes, and the ultimate four kilograms of the Elite King’s Basket, priced at EGP 1,500.
