Giving back has always been a tradition that Egyptians have upheld for generations, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. This year, Carrefour, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in Egypt, announced the launch of four key Ramadan initiatives that focus on facilitating giving back to the wider community.

The campaign follows the slogan “Ramadan Kareem Bel Kheir with Carrefour”, with various opportunities created by the company to help you donate. One of the activities, Kart El-Kheir, is implemented in partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank. The other three – Sa3eit El Kher, Double El Kher and Ramadan Boxes – showcase Carrefour’s efforts in rewarding its loyal customers.

In light of Carrefour’s partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank, Kart El-Kheir (generosity card) was launched to simplify the process of meal donations for the community. The cards are currently available for shoppers priced at EGP 35 to purchase across all Carrefour branches. In addition to that, the Egyptian Food Bank introduced a designated food programme that ensures the safe delivery of all meals to underprivileged families during Iftar.

As for the second initiative, launched at the beginning of March, Sa3eit El Kher (generosity hour) offers shoppers the chance to get their entire cart of groceries for free.

Carrefour has also introduced Double El Kher, an initiative that enables users of the Majid Al Futtaim Carrefour MyClub app to double their loyalty points when purchasing Ramadan items, providing greater value for returning customers.

Lastly, Ramadan Boxes are also available in-store and online for customers to purchase at affordable prices.

The four initiatives highlight Carrefour’s role as a responsible member of the community and its efforts in supporting the communities in which it operates, especially during Ramadan.
