A picturesque scenery that comes wrapped with beautiful year-round weather; Makadi Heights is a destination for all seasons. Not only does it boast many facilities that make it the place to be for those who are escaping the city, but also an excellent destination for massive events, like Makadi Heights Rally’19.

Having joined forces with Bosla Egypt, Orascom Development’s fully-integrated town hosted the third edition of the championship, which took place from the 12th to the 14th of December. Comprising thirty teams with SUVs designed for off-road racing, the first day of Makadi Heights Rally ’19 witnessed the registration phase, while the second was dedicated to showcasing the competing cars, through a 4×4 obstacle challenge, a rally race, and loads of entertaining shows.

On the third day, when the 300-km off-road rally took place, Makadi Heights Mall hosted the the grand closing ceremony, in which the winners of the third and final round of the championship were announced; Rahhala Total racing team won first place in the modified cars category rally, while Team Alpha’s Amr Younis came first in the unmodified 4×4 SUV cars category. In addition, the ceremony also boasted various entertainment performances, including a Poi Ball show, courtesy of Makadi Heights’ very own Heba Shokry.

Coming to life in cooperation with the Red Sea Governorate, and under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Defense, as well as the Ministry of Environment, Makadi Heights Rally ’19 proved to be successful.

Celebrating the town’s first sporting event, Fady Alphonse, CEO of Makadi Heights and Byoum, stated earlier that the event comes in line with the Red Sea governorate’s strategy to promote Hurghada as the destination for international sports events, which will, in turn, support the development of sports tourism in Egypt.
