Ahmed Bassiouny Egyptian Independent Artist Music & Film Festival at Darb 17 18
One of the unsung heroes of the Egyptian Revolution was Ahmed Bassiouny, a sound/visual artist who died on January 28 while defending his rights to a better living. The festival at Darb 17 18 will be held in commemoration of his artistic talents and to support other independent artists. The festival aims to promote the idea of encouraging positive change in Egypt’s art scene, and features Cairokee, Feed Me (electronic rock), Machine Eat Man (egyptronica), SimpleXity (progressive rock)as well as filmmakers Ahmed Khalifa, Mohamed Taymor, Mahmoud Hamdi and Mohamed Soliman.
