‘Bamako’ Screening at The District
As part of their first ever African Film Week, the District is screening 2006 film, ‘Bamako’, from Mauritanian writer and director, Abderrahmane Sissako. Set in Mali’s capital, the film tells the story of a couple’s strained marriage, as the country struggles with financial burdens that are blamed on the IMF and the World Bank. Attendance is free.
