Cairo Mediterranean Literary Festival: ‘Dunia’ Screening at British Council
As part of the Cairo Mediterranean Literary Festival, the British Council will hold a screening of 2005 Egyptian film ‘Dunia’ by Lebanese director Jocelyne Saab. The film tells the story of Dunia, a
literature graduate, who decides to explore the world of oriental
belly-dancing. Meeting Beshir, a
free-spirited intellectual and activist, she finds self-liberation but also discovers the extent of constraints on
women in Egyptian society. Attendance is free.
