Graffiti Evening at Townhouse Gallery
Townhouse Gallery will be host graffiti artist Stone (aka Don Karl) as
he talks about one of his projects, the recently released book ‘Arabic
Graffiti’. This will be followed by a seminar entitled ‘Street
Art, Design & the Revolution’ by designer and street artists Mohamed Gaber, and then a meet
& greet and Q&A with world famous graffiti crew MaClaim. The night will close with a screening of Florian
Gaag’s 2006 film ‘Wholetrain’, which tells the story of a crew of four ‘writers’, who observe the hierarchies, the
values, the rules and the codes of the graffiti scene. Night after night they
make off for the subway stations of the city, intent on leaving opulent images
behind (German with English subtitles).
