‘Il Papa di Giovanna’ screening at the Italian Cultural Centre
Set in Bologna, Italy during World War II, this film tells the story of a dysfunctional family. Giovanna is a shy, insecure and average looking young girl. Her father, an unsuccessful artist, is devoted to giving her the best education, reassuring her every day of her intellectual and cultural superiority. His aim is to provide her with a great future, but everything will turn into tragedy when Giovanna murders her beautiful and generous classmate. Italian with English subtitles
