Laila Shawa Exhibit at Articulate Baboon
Well known artist Laila Shawa returns to Egypt after 50 years and is holding an exhibit at the Articulate Baboon Art Gallery. Shawa’s work is among both private and public collections all around the world. The current exhibit, titled ‘Arabopop!’ reveals a playful Shawa as she incorporates humor and unique form into a classical Islamic decoration; a modern take revealing it’s relevance in contemporary pop culture.
