Aeard-winning Egyptian film, ‘Micropohone’ (2010), tells the story of Khaled as he
returns home from the USA to his hometown of Alexandria for his mother’s
funeral. Planning to make a new start, he battles the conservative
forces taking over Alexandria while discovering a new alternative side
to the city he hadn’t seen before. Director Ahmed Abdalla explores the dreams and expectations of the characters who are living
between a nostalgia for the past and an aspiration for a different
future. Arabic with English subtitles. Attendance is free.
