Reimagined Memories Exhibition at Ubuntu Art Gallery
“This collection of textile hangings, mostly stitched by the tentmakers of Cairo, is bound by the common thread of reimagined memories. Almost all of these pieces are a response to something seen or experienced, whether a place, a building, a detail, a moment. At times the memory is that of the craftspeople themselves, at other times, it is that of designers, who are not themselves the makers of the work,” wrote artist Seif El Rashidi. Catch his “Reimagined Memories” exhibition at Ubuntu Art Gallery, running until the 20th of April. Make an appointment by calling +201002792223 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
