‘The Seven Billionth Citizen’: Weeklong Screening at Townhouse
Following the United Nations’ announcement of the birth of the seven billionth citizen in 2011, five artists from five major populations zones of the world joined in a collaborative art video that captures the romantic archetype of the lone figure. Artists include Egyptian Ayman Ramadan, Kenyan James Muriuki, Japanese Naoya Hatakeya, Brazilian Maria Lucia Cattani and British Nick Rands. Curated by John Gillett and Beth Harland, ‘The Seven Billionth Citizen” screens over one week at Townhouse Gallery.
