Happy (nine consecutive days away from work for) Eid, Cairo! It’s the last national holiday of the year and the stars have aligned to give us a just enough time off to disconnect. While many have used the opportunity to take one more extended beachside break, those spending Eid in Cairo have plenty to look forward to, too.

On Monday, Cairo Jazz Club kicks off its perennial Stranded in Cairo!? program with a debuting Karim Diwan, as well as Ayman Nageeb, manning the decks. Elsewhere, it’s Games Night at the Tap East with DJ Teddy Providing the music, while at Maadi sister venue, the Tap, Sewwes is promising a distinctly funky night of music.

Elsewhere, Downtown Cairo’s after Eight celebrates Eid with the help of DJ Samba’s hip-hop and r&b sets, while over at Manial, the Garden Nile Front hosts DJ Eka and a racy Russian dance show. Over in Heliopois, meanwhile, Hakamoro welcomes belly-dancer, Nancy, and DJ Bibo S., while Zamalek’s Riverside kicks off its weekend with shaabi singer, Mahmoud El Laithy.

Tuesday sees Garden City’s Rooftop continue its recent string of good bookings with special event Deep Fusion, where Sebzz headlines an evening that will also see Hussin Gamal, Metsh and Fuzzy perform. DJ Feedo is back at Riverside, meanwhile, with Fresh ‘N’ Fly, while DJ Dina is in charge of the music at After Eight.

There’s live music for the taking, too; the Garden Nile Front welcomes local band, 3 of Us, while indie cutie, Osama El Hady, performs at Cairo Jazz Club and live jazz awaits at Fairmont Nile City’s Saigon Restaurant & Lounge – live jazz hat continues on Wednesday, too, with live music also on the menu at Riverside, where singer, Ahmed Mokhtar, and talented percussionist, Fras, perform.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Sewwes is back, this time at the Tap East, for a night of Nu Disco, and DJ Miesh is at Cairo Jazz Club armed with his hip-hop and r&b arsenal.

It’s a busy day at El Sawy Culturewheel, meanwhile, with Moneed Band set to return to the stage, as well as Waslet Samaa’, in separate concerts.

The festivities continue on Thursday, with plenty of live music and parties awaiting, including Aguizi & Fahim performing at the Garden Nile Front.

Thursday also sees the return of Gu Bar’s WKND parties, while the Tap Maadi welcomes Elias Sabella for a night of alternative rock. Elsehwere, Cairo Jazz Club hosts a double header of live music with Funk OFF and Danny Malak, while ROOM Art Space hosts a performance from the Shady El Qasseer Jazz Quartet and Zamalek’s 3elbt Alwan welcome the spiritual, improvisational music of Mustafa Rashad.

These are just a few of the events across Egypt’s capital this Eid, though – check out the Cairo 360 events calendar for more.
