Ramadan 2022: What Do the Ads Have for Us

Our TV screens would be unrecognisable in Ramadan without the ads we’re used to. Can you even imagine it? Absolutely not! Luckily, we don’t have to. This year, like the many before it, we’ve been delighted with the new ads.

Let’s take a look.

Vodafone – El Bena Hayah

If there’s someone who knows how to capture the love-sick mood that grasps us, it’s definitely Amr Diab. This is exactly how this ad feels: delightful and love-full as the scenes go over many different moments in the shared life of two lovers with Amr Diab’s voice narrating in the background.

Zed – Efrah

Led by Tamer Hosny, Elisa, and Nelly Kareem, need we say more? The ad is full of singing and dancing as the shots move over the many perks of Zed life, and we can’t help but sing and dance along to the catchy lyrics!

Banque Misr – Ya Ma’fer

Ramadan is always a great reminder that we’re subject only to our will, and this song for Banque Misr perfectly captures the feeling. Especially with Shreen Abd-El Waheb’s vibrant voice carrying the ad to completion as we see different people from all layers of life, fighting to get where they want. Very inspiring!

Telecom Egypt – Ramadan Zaman

The ad first catches our attention with the fun music and lyrics led by Yasmeen Abd El-Aziz and Kareem Mahmoud Abd El-Aziz, then it makes sure we stay with the cheerful, bright colours. The ad also touches on a very real Ramadan debate: which is better, the Ramadan of old or the Ramadan of now?

Me’mar El-Morshdy – Lesa Hala Helwa

This ad could best be described as an ‘ode to joy.’ Miriam Fares, Abu, and Ahmed Hatem have a great time partying on a boat, making us yearn for summer to come faster!

Orange – Ramadan Rabee’

Ramadan made its way to us at the same time as spring this year! A great occasion and a goodbye to Summer Ramadans. No one celebrates it better than Orange with Nelly Kareem, Dina El Sherbiny and Mona Zaky, who make creative use of Egypt’s official spring song ‘El Donia Rabee’ by the late Soad Hosny. Orange captures the late Cinderella’s energy on screen with her joyful and spring-like presence, and it comes very close with the lovely depiction of spring mixed with Ramadan.

Madinaty – Hekayat Karim Abd El-Aziz

Who wouldn’t like to watch Kareem Abd El-Aziz be a fun uncle figure as the camera sweeps over all the delights Madinaty holds? The ad showcases the beauty of Madinaty with all its new features and accommodating services.

Egyptian Food Bank- Farah Gherk

Tugging at our heartstrings, the Egyptian Food Bank has created a lovely ad where there are no boundaries between different class families, and highlights the sharing spirit that overwhelms us in Ramadan. The song by Tamer Hosny, with guest stars like Eyad Nassar showing up, all with the presence of ordinary families, evokes the true Ramadan spirit in us!

Egyptian Agricultural Bank

The Egyptian Agricultural Bank aims to show us that it can take care of Egyptian lands, and, essentially, Egyptian heritage! The ad does a delightful job as farmers star in it, showing their dedicated and positive attitudes as they strive to take care of their lands with the extra help they receive.
