‎ Self Juicery: A Guilt-Free Choice to Get You Through the Week in Maadi ‎

It’s hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle within such a fast-paced city, especially that most of the food that you can grab on the go tends to be greasy and unhealthy. Luckily, Self Juicery steps in to fill this gap, giving us some quick, healthy, fulfilling options in two branches; one in Maadi and another in Zamalek.

We headed to the Maadi branch, where the well-designed space boasts a minimalistic vibe to it. There’s a large bar where you can place your order and several highchairs, for those who feel like dining in.

The menu is filled with different healthy and nutritional options; a diversity of juice blends (to which supplements can be added), and some healthy shots. As for food, they offer various Greek yoghurt and oatmeal bowls, salads, rice rolls, and sandwiches. We selected two juice blends, which were the Mango Orange (53 LE), and the Vanilla Almond (53 LE), in addition to a Chicken Parmesan sandwich (71 LE).

A pleasant blend, the mango/orange harmoniously gathered the best of both world’s; the creamy sweetness of the mango, and the zesty freshness of the orange. To balance the consistency of the blend, coconut was added to it, which gave it a smooth texture. The Vanilla Almond is an ideal choice for anyone with a sweet tooth trying to keep a low-calorie count. Blended with banana, the drink’s thick consistency resembles that of a milkshake, making it filling for the hungry.

The chicken Parmesan sandwich consisted of shredded chicken, fresh arugula leaves, grilled tomato, pesto sauce, and fresh parmesan cubes. While the whole mix was delicious, it was served cold, relative to the toasted bread. The contrast was odd in a way, but it didn’t hinder us from enjoying the flavourful sandwich.

In a nutshell, everything was made and served well. There are many appealing items on the menu that are also of nutritional value. Self Juicery delivers, which is a plus.
