Having opened its doors for the 2019 academic year that began in September, the Egypt branch of the UK’s prestigious university, Coventry University, is taking its educational offerings up another notch. With a range of academic activities, students can experience industry in the real world, with all its challenges.

The Knowledge Hub Universities, located at the New Administrative Capital, Coventry University Branch took their Engineering students on a field trip to El Sewedy Electric factory; one of Egypt’s largest electrical products manufacturers. The students were able to get a close-up look at the complex manufacturing process, which proved to be a beneficial experience to their practical-learning journey.

Numerous lectures took place starring experts in various fields, including members of the French automotive giant, Valeo, who discussed software engineering in the industry with Engineering & Computing students. The list of guest lecturers also included renowned names in the fields of design and media, like Hisham Al Issawy and Dr Essam Riffat.

The branch’s successful start of the academic year joins a long list of global achievements of Coventry University. In addition to maintaining a high-performance status in teaching quality, student experience, and graduate prospects in the Good University Guide 2020, published by The Times and the Sunday Times, Coventry University is now listed among top 600 universities in the world for engineering and technology, and computing, according to the 2020 Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings.

In addition, to earning a five-star rating from the QS Stars Awards, which is the university’s highest-ever score. The stars were awarded in recognition of the university’s high-quality teaching, graduate employability, internationalisation, facilities, innovation, and inclusiveness.
