Another weekend brings a long list of events that cater to the taste of every dweller of the city. The Holidays season is taking over various venues in Cairo with a new range of Christmas bazaars for all the shoppers out there, but for the music lovers, here’s what we are talking about.

As for other weekend’s happenings, here’s the deal:     

Thursday starts with a Radiohead tribute at ROOM Art Space Garden City where The Bends are one the menu, a fusion night at Cairo Opera House courtesy of Cairo Steps, and an Oriental music night at El Gomhoria Theatre, where Awtar play a round of Arabic tunes. It’s a totally different vibe at Darb 1718, where Al Hezb El Comedy take to the stage for a stand-up comedy night that sees some of Cairo’s folks exhibiting their talents.

When the moon rises higher in the sky, the music gets louder at The Tap East as Armen V takes to the decks for a round of pop tunes, Crash Boom Bang sing some numbers at The Tap West, and DJs Azaar and Akladios are in charge at The Tap Maadi for another edition of CheeseBalls.

Alternatively, Electric Thursday sees Moody Jones, and Oriol Calvo taking to the decks at Cairo Jazz Club 610, while Cairo Jazz Club’s Wall of Sound brings to the stage New York-based pop songstress Lafawndah, on a night that also sees Malak Helmy spinning some tunes on decks.

As for Friday, megastar Sherine Abdel Wahab takes to the stage for a round of her classics at Al Manara International Conferences Center, Gravy Train cover some Pink Floyd classics on stage at ROOM Art Space Garden City, while the Religious Music Ensemble chant some songs at El Gomhoria Theatre.

Elsewhere, DJ Feedo and DJ Soul M spin some R&B and hip-hop numbers at The Tap West, Vyrus pay homage to Metallica on stage at The Tap Maadi, while Kitchen Crowd and Richard R are on the menu at Cairo Jazz Club, taking to the decks for a round of house tunes.

When Saturday comes, Cairo Opera House hosts a Christmas concert, ROOM Art Space’s ‘Let’s Go Big’ sees various artists taking to the stage on a massive night of music, while Grand Nile Tower sees Dalia Farid singing a host of Christmas Carols on stage, while Asia Madani delivers a host of Sudanese folk tunes at Cairo Jazz Club. Strwaberry Swing delivers a Coldplay tribute night at The Tap East, where the weekend comes to a close.
