Here comes the weekend again; if you are heading to Sahel, well, good for you. But if you are spending the upcoming days in the city, Cairo has what it takes to keep you entertained. Here’s the deal:

Thursday begins with a Nubian folk music night, where El Kaff El Aswany take to El Dammah Theater’s stage, a Pink Floyd tribute night at ROOM Art Space Garden City courtesy of Paranoid Eyes, while Om Kalthoum Returns bring a round of Oriental Classics at El SawyCulturewheel. This weekend, Maq’ad El Sultan Qaitbey –AKA MASQ- hosts a series of music nights that begins with El Dor El Awal taking to the stage for a round of contemporary Arabic tunes.

When the night grows older, DJ Kamel Mohsen serves some house numbers at The Tap East, DJ Doggy Dogg drops some hip-hop and R&B beats at The Tap Maadi, while it’s a disco night at The Tap West, where DJ Dou, as well as DJ ABD, hit the decks. Meanwhile at Cairo Jazz 610, DJ Malak Helmy plays a set that swings between various genres, followed by DJ Ahmed Samy, who takes to decks for a round of unique sounds.

Friday sees The GrEEK Campus hosting the very first day of the Social Media Day / Summit 2019, which will run until Sunday. The event will be home to a host of speakers sharing their expertise in the field. Among the speakers, is our very own Waseem El Tanahi (who will be speaking on Saturday), CEO of Media Republic, and founder of Cairo 360, and Cairo Gossip.

Speaking of ROOM Art Space, New Cairo’s branch at The Spot Mall hosts a night that sees Hany Must taking to the stage to sing various numbers from his solo album, while Wegdan covers classics by the late Algerian songstress Warda at Darb 1718.

On the other side of the musical spectrum come Ouzo, Hassan Abou Allam, and Omar El Sherif to take to the decks for a massive house night at Cairo Jazz Club, while DJ Feedo spins some hip-hop and R&B tunes at The Tap West. The Disc Jockeys are taking over at The Tap East to serve some Afro-infused Nu Disco beats, while DJ MESKA, as well as BubbleGumKollectiv, are on the menu at Cairo Jazz 610.
