Fun Weekend Activities For the Whole Family!

Now that the kids are back in school, parents are certainly going to miss some of that quality time. Thankfully, there are still weekends for some family bonding time. If you’re having trouble finding something that kids and grown-ups can both enjoy, then we’re here to help. There are tons of exciting things to do in Cairo, whether you’re five or 65 years old, and every age in between. So, here are some activities that are fun for the whole family.

Go-Karting
If your kids have a need for speed, then this activity will be sure to please them. Go-Karting is a super exciting way to spend the afternoon no matter how old you are, and your kids will definitely appreciate it when you let them win the big race. AutoVroom in Al Obour has a huge track, and the staff will make sure to educate you on safety precautions before you step into a vehicle. GoKart Egypt also has venues across the country, and it offers mini cars and tracks for kids between the ages of four to nine.

Arcade
What kid doesn’t like playing games? This activity is sure to satisfy everybody, and there are many arcades across Cairo where you take your little ones for a fun night out. Head to one of many Magic Planet arcades in various malls throughout the city or have a day of play at Xtremeland in Madinaty’s Open Air Mall. Additionally, there is the recently opened Cosmocity in Arkan Plaza with tons of classic arcade games and laser tag.

Africa Safari Park
Take a walk on the wild side…or a drive, in this case, at Africa Safari Park. Egypt’s first safari park is home to amazing animals, including lions, leopards, hippos, monkeys, and more. You can watch through your car window and even get up close and personal with some of them. The park is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm and can be found on Alexandria Desert Road.

Amusement Park
Take the whole family to an amusement park and spend the day on rides, playing games, and stuffing your face with all kinds of delicious junk food. Thrill seekers will get a rush from the extreme rides, while there are lots of kid-friendly options for the little ones too. Zed Park in Sheikh Zayed and the landmark Dream Park are great options for your big day out.

Bowling
You’ll definitely score with this idea! Bowling is a great pastime for kids and adults alike, and there are several bowling alleys throughout Cairo. Bring the family along to Inlane Bowling Center in Arabella Plaza, Bounce Bowling in Maadi, or The International Bowling Center in Nasr City.

Cinema
Sometimes, we all just want some peace and quiet, and watching a film is the perfect thing to keep your kids distracted while you get some downtime. Plus, some of those family-friendly movies can be pretty entertaining. (Don’t worry—we promise not to tell anyone you actually enjoyed The Minions!)
