Egypt’s favourite North American stand-up comedian, Russel Peters, is returning to Cairo this February 19th after months of delay. Having been scheduled to perform across the Middle East and South Africa back in November, the tour was postponed, given the situation in the region. After the success of his performance in December 2021 here in Cairo, Egyptians have eagerly awaited his return to Om El Donia.

We were all ecstatic when Peters announced he would be touring the Middle East after two years since his last on-stage appearance in the region. While we were all anticipating the event, we were expecting him to cancel his show, initially scheduled for November. “Out of respect for what’s happening in the region, I’m stepping back from my upcoming Middle East and South Africa tours until the new year”, he stated in an Instagram post. Though we were worried that the show would be indefinitely cancelled, his announcement that he would be coming to Cairo in February left us all thrilled. After all, we all need a good laugh after these draining few months.

His return to the region this time around is a continuation of his “Act Your Age” world tour, which has been going on since 2021. Kids below the age of 16 are not allowed, so we can expect a somewhat spicy set, as is Peters’ custom. His Cairo performance is scheduled for Monday, February 19th, at 8 pm at the Sports City Stadium in the New Administrative Capital. For all the details, click this link.
