Buffalo Burger: the Burger Chain Still Going Strong in Zamalek

Undoubtedly, the burger joints scene is getting bigger every year, especially in the Zamalek area. Buffalo Burger was one of the very first casual burger joints to lead that path, and now, it has branches all over Cairo. That’s why we decided to go check out one of the brand’s very first branches; the one that on Yamam Centre’s ground floor.

What is actually impressive about Buffalo Burger is that it knows how to develop based on what is trending in the food industry; its menu has vegan burgers and Keto-diet burgers – quite notable. We are surely going to try those new additions on another visit, but this time, we decided to go for the original options. The selection is massive, so it took us some time to choose, thankfully, we were served a welcome box of nachos and cheese sauce – we were overjoyed to say the least.

First thing we opted for was the Hodge Podge (88LE) – 250gm of grilled beef burger patty, beef bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy mushroom, creamy Buffalo sauce and smoked BBQ sauce. The beef was juicy and tender, the bacon was crispy, the cheese was creamy, and the mushroom was perfect – the only downsides were the excessive amount of BBQ sauce, and the bun wasn’t fresh.

We then decided to get the Umami Burger (52LE) – 150gm of burger patty, cheddar cheese, spicy hollandaise sauce, and spicy fried jalapenos. Served with salad – tomatoes, pickled cucumbers, onions, and lettuce – this burger was fairly juicy and the hollandaise had a distinct creamy flavour. However, the fried jalapenos was out of place in a way, and again, the bun itself wasn’t burger-appropriate.

Other than that, no comments whatsoever; the char on the burgers was perfect, and leaving the vegetables outside the burger is actually a smart move. To complement our burgers, we chose to get a few small appetizers on the side to share. We got the small Coleslaw (11LE) – it was fresh, but a bit short on the seasoning. Also, we got Curly Fries (22LE) with extra BBQ sauce (6LE) – the fries were flawlessly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.

All in all, we enjoyed our visit and our tummies were satisfied. The portions were sizable, the food was fresh, and the prices were quite affordable. Buffalo Burger perfected the casual, yet tasty burger run – definitely worth trying if you’re in the area and up for a quick burger.
