Burgers are a popular item on the fast-food list because they’re affordable and fit any budget. People can buy burgers ranging from simple to elaborate with premium ingredients. But with that being said, you don’t need a thick wallet to buy the best value burgers from a fast food joint and, let’s be honest, Cairo is crawling with them now. What makes a perfect burger is the flavour of the beef, the freshness of the bun, and the toppings. You don’t need to do something out of the box; the key to real success is being consistent, clean, and affordable – and this is where OG Burger found its cosy spot.

As we explored the range of places opening at Sheikh Zayed’s Quibx Hub, we saw OG Burger right in front of the entrance with a cool foosball in the seating area. We automatically went there to check the menu, and of course, play a game or two of the nostalgic foosball. The menu is quite simple and to the point, with around six burgers and a few sides, of which we ordered one Chicken Wings (65 LE) – 6 wings with BBQ sauce, and one Cheese Fries (40 LE) to share. The wings were delicious; conversely, the cheese sauce on the fries wasn’t the best quality – the texture and taste were lacking.

We also ordered one Notorious Fried Chicken (75 LE) – fried chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, buffalo, and ranch sauce. This burger was a hit! The chicken crust was crunchy and flavourful, and the chicken itself was perfectly cooked. If we had one comment, it would be that the buffalo sauce didn’t have that spicy kick it usually has; it was a milder version of a buffalo sauce but still quite tasty. Last but not least, The OG Burger (95 LE) was our final item – a cheeseburger with mushroom, lettuce, and BBQ sauce. This sandwich was nothing short of the picture-perfect burger; the beef patty was juicy and seasoned, the bun was airy and fluffy, the cheese was flawlessly melted, and the mushrooms were cooked to perfection.

Original Gangsters Burger proved itself as a serious player and even a game-changer in the burger world of Cairo. OG Burger figured it out; good quality beef, fluffy bun, and great toppings – that’s the perfect burger equation. Their items are all fairly-priced, and their flavours are simple but still delicious.
