Skip And Scoop: Winter Ice-Cream Delights At Walk Of Cairo

The winter season is definitely here, which means frosty mornings, chilly nights, and everything in between. Many of even the most enthusiastic ice cream fanatics believe the myth that you should only eat ice cream in summer. However, cold weather means that ice cream stays solid for longer, so you can really linger over the flavour and enjoy the taste sensation of this classic sweet treat. The newly opened Skip and Scoop ice cream parlour is here to give us the ultimate venture between our favourite chocolates and the delicious creaminess of ice cream that we all know and love.

As one walks through the twinkly lights and various stores nestled next to each other along Sheikh Zayed’s Walk of Cairo, you cannot resist the allure of trying every dessert shop. Even though the weather might be at its coldest, ice cream is one of those treats that some of us cannot resist. On our last visit, we stumbled upon this parlour next to McDonald’s, Mario’s Truck, and The Musem of Illusions at Walk of Cairo. The store is eye-catching with bright colours and fun ice cream cone props all over. As we entered the store and browsed around, we noticed that they also serve cookies, brownies, doughnuts, bubble waffles, cakes, and more. But since it was the end of the day, we thought it was a good idea to try their baked goods in the morning, so we only opted for their speciality ice cream flavours this time.

We headed towards the ice cream fridge and tasted some of their flavours. Finally, we settled on the Caramel Salted Pecan (35 LE), the Reese’s (35 LE), Lotus (35 LE), and the Daim Caramel (35 LE) – some of them were with a waffle cone (20 LE each), and some were in cups. We enjoyed all the flavours we had ordered; the Reese’s and Daim tasted precisely like their authentic counterparts and had chunks of the chocolates blended into the mix. What resonated with us was the red velvet waffle cones; they were satisfyingly airy, light, and crunchy at the same time.

Our visit was certainly a delightful one; the flavours seemed to have been carefully created to capture the essence of our favourite chocolates with more than reasonable prices. So next time you head to Walk of Cairo, make sure to pass by and try their vast selection of yummy flavours like Rocky Road, Honey Comb, Banana Caramel, Belgian Chocolate, and more.
