Ghazl Banat Boutique: Trendy Women’s Designer Clothing in Zamalek

Re-located
from the quiet Montaza Street to Degla Shopping
Center on Hassan Sabry Street, Ghazl Banat Boutique remains one of this
reviewer’s favourite boutiques in Zamalek.

Ghazl Banat
features a colourful and cute collection of dresses, tops and jeans as well as shorts,
bags and shoes; all of which are of funky and non-mainstream designer brands
mainly imported from USA and Italy.

The little
and bright shop has racks left, right and centre displaying items by the likes
of Soun, Velvet, Eyedoll, Helmut Lang, Rebecca Taylor, Graham & Spencer,
Sauce, Twenty8Twelve and JW LA. A whitewashed table in the centre of the
shop displays various cuts and colours of jeans and jeans shorts by American
brand Siwy, which ranges from 1500LE to 2500LE. The dresses, tops and items like
random vests and cardigans are likely to come off as pricey, but if you’re
willing to invest in unique and gorgeous designs by extremely artistic designers; then definitely
splurge.

The dresses come in different fabric, style
and lengths from floral and colourful maxis to plain silk mini-dresses
ranging
from 800LE to 3000LE. The tops include
plain cotton t-shirts with a twist, sleeveless blouses and funky, loose cotton
tops, all of which range between 500LE and 1000LE.

Ghazl Banat
also stocks Dioniso shoes, which are similar to Converse sneakers but with an
Italian design element such as a hint of leather for a whopping 2150LE. They
also have imported designer bags by the Italian brand Campomaggi, which are made
from genuine Italian leather with excellent finishing and a grungy design.

What’s nice
about Ghazl Banat is that there is something out there for every woman’s taste;
you have the plain, the funky, the boho chic, the elegant but down to earth,
the mix and match between different patterns and fabric, and the dressy little
pieces too.

360 Tip

The items on sale are actually of very good quality and design. There’s also a nice collection of unconventional evening dresses.

Best Bit

Unique, high-quality women’s designer brands that are hard to find in Egypt.

Worst Bit

Some of the items are overpriced for their material and cut.
