European brand Vero Moda is a worthy addition that has been making a name
for itself over the past few years. With several shops all over Cairo, the Citystars branch is located in
Phase 1 on the second floor near Mango and United Colours of Benetton.

Despite its
large space, the shop has racks placed so closely together that navigation becomes
difficult; especially during seasonal sales. Expect an occasional tap on the
back to move over, and expect to put down the last piece of an item and have it
disappear a second later.  

The sales
attendants at Vero Moda are both harried and hurried, attending to several
shoppers at a time. Understandably, you might have to wait a little while
before you receive a requested size or colour. 

Although
Vero Moda might not offer the best clothing when it comes to quality, we have
to hand it to them; the summer 2011 season’s collection is eclectic, lightweight and suitable to all tastes. Whether you are into daring designs and
loud colours or classic patterns and neutral colours; Vero Moda doesn’t disappoint.

However, Vero
Moda’s prices are not exactly moderate. A basic unlined blazer sells for
slightly less than 500LE; but it all comes down to how much time and effort you
are willing to put into your shopping. Shrewd shoppers can locate an item or
two that are moderately priced and of respectable quality. You can find basic
shirts and leggings for over 100LE, but you can also find a simple handbag
priced at 365LE.  

Since denim tops seem to be in vogue
this season, Vero Moda stocks denim boleros, shirts, tunics and vests in a
variety of dark and light shades, with prices starting at 200LE and upwards.  

Aside from
their casual wear collection, Vero Moda also stocks satin and chiffon blouses and
knee-length sequined dresses for a more evening-appropriate look. For all
working women out there, the shop also stocks formal trousers and skirts as well as
office-friendly shirts and blazers.

Though every outfit requires the right set of
accessories, Vero Moda carries a relatively limited selection by Pieces,
including handbags, belts, sandals and necklaces, as well as sunglasses, scarves and wallets. Prices range from 100LE to 500LE. Also on
offer by Pieces are summery swimsuits in vibrant colours and loud patterns,
starting at 150LE for unpadded and unstructured bikinis.
