It's Thursday, the weather is kind of clammy and we think we speak for everyone when we say, let's get this over and done with so we can start to enjoy the weekend, rather than just read about it – so let's dive in to what is shaping up to be a deliciously busy weekend.

Thursday sees the Tap East in New Cairo kicks off its weekend with tech house duo, Aguizi & Fahim, while sister-venue, the Tap Maadi, welcomes local band, Bluezophrenia.

Elsewhere, DJ Hady Tarek's podcast-turned-event-series, Sound Chemistry, returns to the Garden Nile Front in Manial for a special edition featuring Jaap Ligthart and Black8. Meanwhile, this week's edition of Bus Stop's House Station welcomes Pach Sharm resident, Ouzo, while Cairo Jazz Club hosts a huge night of live music with the three acts set to perform; Montreal-based musician, Karim Terouz – who performs the first of three gigs this weekend – the Banned, and Beatles tribute band, Glass Onion.

There's more live music to be found Downtown at After Eight, where Salalem perform, as well as at Garden City's ROOM Art Space, which is set to welcome back seasoned jazz musician, Adam Miller.

Away from music and parties, popular stand-up, Aly Qandil, is joined by a whole host of comedians for a special show at El Sawy Culturewheel, while Falaki Theatre hosts the last night of Waiting for Godot's four-night run. Meanwhile, ballets is on the menu at Cairo Opera House, which hosts the first night of Cinderella.

On Friday, one of the biggest dates on the local fashion calendar is back, as Cairo Fashion Festival returns for season six. Taking place at Cairo Festival City, the two-day event will see runway shows and even live music, as both international and local brands showcase their work.

Elsewhere, Nacelle close the season with the last edition of all-day music-fest, Funk N Pop, before Ramadan, with the likes of A-SquaredSafi, Aly Goede and Hawidro among the acts performing at Royal Club Mohamed-Aly, while Karim Terouz performs again – this time at the Tap East's weekly Friday brunch.

Later in the evening, the Tap in Maadi welcomes back DJ Man-O for a night of hip-hop and r&b, while this week's Riverdeep sees DJ Fuzzy & Ayman Nageeb take to the decks at Zamalek's Riverside.

Cairo Jazz Club brings back popular series, House Obsession, but with a twist, as this weekend's specia 'Ladies Edition' sees kidmims;, Akladios and Nu Sherif provide the music.

There's more live music around the capital, meanwhile, with unigue, genre-bending band, Musiphoria, performing at ROOM Art Space, Adham Roshdy and the Wave Jazz Band taking to the stage at Cairo Opera House and, and event organiser, Cochlea, debuting a new concept at Darb 1718; Lastbreath will see artists and producers take to the stage to perform live sets.

The music rolls long into Saturday, too, as Karim Terouz ends his mini-tour of Cairo with a performance at the Tap in Maadi, while increasingly popular local band, Bahiyya, return to Cairo Jazz Club to pay tribute to Sheikh Imam.

Cairo Fashion Festival moves into its second day at CFC, while Galleria40 will be busy, too, as the Sheikh Zayed complex welcomes Egyptian illusionist and magician, Moustapha Berjaoui, for a performance on a night that will also hosts a special screening of the UEFA Champions League Final.
