Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children Returns to Cairo this March

Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children returns this year, taking place in from the 2nd to the 12th of March. Hakawy is hosting a whopping 66 international performances for children from seven different countries, including, Germany, France, The Netherlands, in addition to a host of homegrown talents. Performances, which blend entertainment and education, presents various arts; from folktale storytelling nights, dances, and theatre, to fun science workshops.

Created in 2011 by independent organisation AFCA Art Center, the organisation’s main aim is to educate children and youth through arts. Joining forces with Tahrir Cultural Centre, this year’s edition sees various performances taking place at the venue, in addition to El Hanager Theatre, Goethe Institute in Cairo, as well as Darb 1718.  

You can also volunteer for the festival to get the opportunity to see the live performances, gain experience, get a certificate, all while helping kids in need.
