Every year, we wait on the edge of our seats to see what the TV has in store for us. We’ve picked 10 of the most anticipated series for you to get an idea of what you’re in for this year. With more details being announced and a few shows getting cancelled, here are our updated top 10 picks…

Harb Ahaleya

First one on the list stars legendary actress Youssra. We saw her last year in “Betrayal of Ahed”. Yousra’s latest series, “Harb Ahaleya” (Civil War), was written by Ahmed El Adl and directed by Sameh Abdel Aziz. Starring alongside her is Syrian actor Bassel Khayat, rising star Jamila Awad, Lebanese actress and TV host Cynthia Khalifeh, Egyptian actor and Netflix star of “Paranormal” Rushdy Al Shamy, and Bassant Seyam.

Khaly Balek Men Zizi

Egyptian actress Amina Khalil will play the leading role in a series called “Khaly Balak Men Zizi” (Take Care of Zizi). Her last series was the hit show “Leh La’aa” (Why Not). Her co-stars here are Bayoumi Fouad, Sabry Fawaz, Asmaa Galal, Noha Abdeen, Mohamed Mamdou, Aly Kassem, Salwa Mohamed Aly, and Safaa el Toukhy. The series was written by Sard Workshop, managed by Egyptian writer Mariam Naoum, written by Mona el Shimy and Magdy Amin, and directed by Karim El Shenawy. Based on the title, it could be similar to the 70’s movie hit “Khaly Balak Men ZouZou”, which stared Souad Hosny, Hussein Fahmy, Samir Ghanem, among other esteemed actors. That story follows a college professor that falls for one of his students, and his fiancee exposes the student’s secret to everyone.

Ded El Kasr

Egyptian megastar Nelly Karim will be starring in “Ded El Kasr” (Can’t Be Broken), written by Amr El Daly, produced by Synergy and the Al Adl group, and directed by Ahmed Khaled. Her co-stars are Ramzy El Adl, Mohamed Farag, Lakaa Al Khameis, Mostafa Darwish, Tara Emad, Hesham Ismail, Cynthia Khalifeh, Hamza Al Eily, and Noheir Amin.

Elly Malosh Kebeer

The series stars Egyptian actress Yasmin Abdulaziz, who plays a character named Ghazal that gets caught up in romantic drama with Seif Al-Khediwi (Ahmed Al-Awadi). The series was written by Amr Yassin and directed by Mostafa Fekry.

Mousa

A series led by actor and singer Mohamed Ramadan will be aired in Ramadan 2021. This one was written by Nasser Abdel Rahman and directed by Mohamed Salama, and it will star a large number of stars, including Abeer Sabry and Somaya el Khashab.

El Ekhteyar 2

Last year, El Ekhteyar, a tribute to martyred Colonel Ahmed El Mansy, was a huge hit starring “Basha Masr” Amir Karara. Almost every home in Egypt and the Middle East tuned in, and now, it’s making a return to our screens with this much-anticipated sequel. El-Mansy was the commander of brigade 103 of the Sa’ka Forces (Thunderbolt Forces), who was martyred on the 7th of July of 2017 with a few members of his unit. This second season features a different cast about another hero in the Egyptian Army, starring the iconic Karim AbdelAziz, alongside Ahmed Mekky, Eyad Nassar, Enjy El Mokkadem, and Bushra, among other esteemed actors.

Hagma Mortada

Egyptian superstars Ahmed Ezz and Hend Sabry will co-star in “Hagma Mortada”, a series that revolves around one of the true stories from the files of the Egyptian Intelligence. It also stars Magda Zaki, Salah Abdallah, Mohamed Gomaa and others. Hagma Mortada was written by Baher Dewidar, produced by production company Synergy, and directed by Ahmed Alaa.

Qasr El Nile

Starring as a 60s aristocratic girl, Dina El Sherbiny was cast as the leading role in the TV series. Acting alongside her are Riham Abdel Ghafour, Salah Abdallah, Sabri Fawaz, Mahmoud al-Bezawi, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Narden Fag, Ahmed Magdy, Amro al-Saed, Nabil Essa, and Mariam al-Khosht. Qasr El Nile was written by Mohamed Suleiman Abdul-Malik, directed by Khaled Marei, and produced by iProduction.

Le’bet Newton

Renowned Egyptian actress Mona Zaki is making a comeback this year with Le’bet Newton, alongside Mohamed Mamdouh, Mohamed Farag, Sayed Ragab, Aisha Bin Ahmed. The series was written and directed by Tamer Mohsen.

Al Qahera Kabul

This series stars many known Egyptian celebrities like Khaled El Sawy, Tarek Lotfy, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Hanan Motawie, Sherine, and others. The series is full of suspense and excitement, where it revolves around the plots hatched by terrorists against Egypt, where Tarek Lotfy embodies the role of Osama bin Laden, who plans and carries out terrorist attacks and is confronted by the police officer, Fathi Abdel Wahab, while Khaled El Sawy plays the role of the media presenter.
