Fans gathered from across the Middle East and beyond at the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Friday to show support to their idol, Tamer Hosny. The Egyptian star broke the Guinness World Record for the most contributions to a bulletin board, marking him as one of the most influential artists of all time.

“We broke the previous world record with over double the numbers. Thank God, Tamer Hosny enters the Guinness World Records as the most influential and inspirational artists in the world,” announced the musician on his Facebook page.

The previous holder of the world record was EXSO Consultancy, who set the bar at 4,900 contributions in Al Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2017. According to Arab News, Hosny achieved 12,086 contributions, which was not an easy task. In order to make an entry to Guinness World Records, the artist had to be in a foreign country, where he had not lived, and his fans had a period of only four days to submit their appreciation notes.

This was not Hosny’s first attempt to break a Guinness World Record; his previous entry was for the donation campaign Pulse of Life, which was dubbed as the world’s biggest in 2016. According to Vogue Man, Hosny was also the first Arab pop singer to perform in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2018, where most of the crowd was made up of his female fans.

We congratulate the star on his big win and wish him the best of luck on his upcoming 2020 feature film El Felous (Money), starring Zeina and Khaled el-Sawy, and directed by Saeed El Marouk.
