Today, Thursday, marks the launch of a huge event: The Citadel Music Festival. It starts tonight, and there are a ton of amazing concerts to attend. What makes this festival so special is the huge number of stars that perform there, plus, of course, the brilliant awe of the cultural and historical venue at which this event is taking place: The Saladin Citadel of Cairo.

If you’re looking to get a musical dose this weekend, hit the Citadel this Friday for the two concerts of the evening. First off, we have Foaad and Moneeb Band at 8 pm, where the band will perform a host of their oriental tunes. Next up, we have the Tunisian songstress, Ghalia Bin Ali performing a host of beautiful tunes playing along with her soothing voice.

This is the twenty seventh edition of the Citadel Music Festival, and it has seen huge success in its past editions, giving it great popularity among music lovers in Cairo. Organised by the Cairo Opera House, the event is filled with true talents; moreover, don’t think you’ll find a more impressive backdrop for a concert than the majestic Citadel of Cairo, especially with the special decorations it gets just for the festival. Tickets are sold at the gate, and they go for only 15 EGP for the night (both parties). Make sure to arrive early as it can get pretty crowded.
