In what is shaping up to be one of the biggest local book fairs in Egypt’s capital – save for another particular annual international book fair – AUC Bookstore is set to welcome thousands of Cairenes for a three-day extravaganza, starting on Friday 11th of December on Tahrir campus.

The Tahrir Book Fair will see the shop slash prices by 20% as well as offer books for a mere 10LE – that’s 10LE, which isn’t even enough to buy a decent meal these days. In October of this year, the Kasr El Aini entrance to the AUC Bookstore in Downtown was reopened having been closed since the revolution – and it was made out to be quite the occasion.
