Conceived in 1979 by American expats as a way to support others working and living in Egypt, the Community Services Association (CSA) has grown into a vibrant community of individuals with a passion for wellness, art, education, and more. The CSA serves as an inclusive space fostering communication and integration between different members of the community. At their location in Maadi, there are endless opportunities to learn, create, and have fun, from seasonal bazaars to art displays by local artists! Here are ten of the numerous things you can do at the CSA.

Enjoy a Healthy Meal at Acairo

The CSA’s latest addition, Acairo, is serving up the freshest acai bowls in Cairo! This vibrant new restaurant is a health fanatic’s dream, with various tasty and nutritious menu items. Indulge in delicious and guilt-free smoothies, salad bowls, toasts, and more.

Learn a New Language

What better way to fit into a new country than by learning their language? Expats living in Cairo can immerse themselves in Egypt’s rich culture by studying Arabic at The Language Studio. Classes follow a ten-week term, meeting twice weekly for two-hour classes, and evaluations are available for more advanced students. They also offer courses in other languages, including English, French, Chinese, and Italian.

Brighten Your Smile at the First Dental Center

Your smile says everything, and there’s no better place to keep it looking good than at the CSA’s First Dental Center. FDC has branches in Sheikh Zayed and Zamalek and recently expanded to include Maadi. You can rely on their expert staff and state-of-the-art facilities to make those pearly whites shine.

Get Your Nails Done

All of us girls know how good it feels to have a fresh set of nails. So, if you’re spending the day at the CSA and want to pamper yourself, head to Sabrina’s Nail Studio.

Shop at the Weekly Farmer’s Market

You can’t beat fresh, local produce. Every Thursday from 10 am to 3 pm, the CSA hosts a farmer’s market where shoppers can browse and give back to their community by buying local goods.

Take a Fitness Class

Who says getting in shape can’t be fun? The CSA is home to a variety of exciting fitness classes that’ll have you feeling the burn in no time. Opt for dance, yoga, pilates, Maui Thai, and more. You can also sign up to use the Reps Gym.

Have a Coffee at the Iconic Cafe Greco

Those who are serious about their coffee will appreciate this one. What sets Cafe Greco apart from your average coffee shop is the quality of the coffee itself. Enjoy a delicious blend of your hot and cold drinks like frappuccinos, cappuccinos, espressos, lattes, and more.

Shop For Local Artisanal Goods

Egyptian craftsmanship is remarkable, and there are several different shops selling local handmade items. L’avenue is the perfect destination for home accessories, while Alkemia specialises in unique pieces that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. Khan Touloun offers a variety of goods made by Egyptian artisans, and Nefertari is known for its quality self-care products. You’ll also find many products at their seasonal bazaars.

Indulge in a Delicious Lunch

The food options at the CSA are endless. Everything from fresh sushi and authentic Venezuelan cuisine to vegan specialities and freshly baked goodies is available. So, stop by for a lunch date you’ll be raving about for weeks.

Pick Up a Gorgeous Piece of Jewellery

It’s nearly impossible to stay out of the shop when a stunning piece of jewellery catches your eye. So we know that when you pass Adam Elwan Jewellery, you’ll instantly be captivated by its expert craftsmanship and beautiful designs.
