Hello Cairo!

Another long weekend – hooray! It’d be easy to take a few days to hibernate , but there’s far too much to do across the city.

As per every Thursday, Cairo’s bars and clubs are coming out all guns blazing; Baher Eid and Aly B take to the decks at Maadi’s Tipsy Bar & Lounge, Minus T returns to Downtown’s VENT and Tamarai hosts another edition of Discotecture in collaboration with Electrum Records.

Elsewhere, Cairo Jazz Club hosts a double header of live music with Grey Grass and the Cadillacs, while Alchemy hosts another A Tequila Tale of Solver & Gold and Syrian-Armenian singer, Lena Chamamyan, performs at Kasr El Nil Theatre.

There’s plenty going on at Fairmont Nile City; Lorna of Cairo shakes her hips at Bab El Nil, Ahmed Harfoush performs at Saigon Restaurant & Lounge and DJ Mounir Zakhary spins house tunes at O Bar.

Darb 1718, meanwhile, continues its series of film screenings with Villa 69. Meanwhile, total solutions food and beverage trade fair, Caféx, kicks off at Cairo International Conference Center. 

Friday sees the relaunch of youth-empowering initiative, Wasleens, at El Genaina Theatre and also sees the long-awaited second edition of Cairo Fashion Festival at Cairo Festival City Mall.

On the nightlife front, Cairo Jazz Club welcomes DJs Miesh and Felix Da Funk, Nadah El Shazly performs at VENT and hip-hop and r&b specialist, DJ Feedo, is back at O Bar, while Ahmed Harfoush performs at Saigon Restaurant & Lounge for a second consecutive night.

The biggest food festival in Egypt, Cairo Bites, arrives on Saturday at Baron Palace in Heliopolis! Later in the evening, Alvarius B and El-G perform at Downtown’s 100Copies Music Space, while a few streets away, Mister Ez and Agent Mo provide the music at VENT.

Elsewhere, Cairo Jazz Club hosts a big night of music with Salalem and Rock n’ Lol, there’s lots of Lebanese Love to go round at Bamboo and Korba bar, the Garden, welcomes one and all to wind down the weekend with Recovery Saturdays.

As always, there’s plenty of art to see across Cairo’s galleries, with this week’s standout tnew exhibition coming at Art Lounge Cairo courtesy of artist, Ibrahim El Haddad.
