Here comes the weekend again, and of course, Cairo has what it takes to keep you entertained on every single day; no matter what your cup of tea may be, there’s always something for everyone. Here are some of the events that are taking place during the upcoming days.

Thursday begins with a theatrical adaptation of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables, which takes place at El Sawy Culturalwheel, a dance performance entitled Fighting at Falaki Theatre, and a stand-up comedy night at Darb 1718, which sees Al Hezb El Comedy taking to the stage, as well as a round of new talents.

Ali El Haggar takes to the stage at Cairo Opera House for a round of his classics, H.O.H  play a host of tunes at New Cairo’s The Marquee, while it’s an instrumental Oriental music night at ROOM Art Space Garden City, which welcomes Gouda Bar to the stage.

Elsewhere, It’s a pop music night at The Tap East, where Armen V takes to the decks, a jazz night at The Tap West, courtesy of Amro & The Big Bang Boogie, while Cairo Jazz Cairo 610’s night, Impulse, sees a lineup of DJ Ashmawy, Kevin de Vries, as well as Fideles taking to the decks. The night ends with DJ Mobbz spinning the tunes at The Tap Maadi for a round of R&B and hip-hop numbers.

As for Friday, Paranoid Eyes cover some Pink Floyd classics at ROOM Art Space Garden City, Songstress Wijdan pays homage to the late Algerian artist Warda at Darb 1718, and the orchestra at El Gomhoria Theatre plays a round of classics by late Egyptian composer Baligh Hamdy. El Sawy Culturewheel hosts contemporary Arabic music, which sees Ali El Helbawy taking to the stage.

When the night grows older, Mr. Arafa takes to the decks at The Tap East for a round of house tunes, BlacRok sing various rock and blues numbers at The Tap Maadi, and Doggy Dogg and DJ Feedo spin some R&B and hip-hop tunes on the decks at The Tap West. While Cairo Jazz Club hosts a house night that sees Ouzo, Sebzz, and the Disc Jockeys, Cairo Jazz Club 610 serves a nostalgic night, where BubbleGum Kollectiv plays a round of 90s hits.

Saturday brings music events to the table; the orchestra takes to the pit at Cairo Opera House to play some classics by Beethoven, Do’souka take to the stage at ROOM Art Space Garden City for a round of underground Arabic songs, and Cheen plays a host of tunes at El Sawy Culturewheel.

More music to come with Rai-Na playing various rai songs at Cairo Jazz Club, Nouran Abou Taleb takes to the stage at The Tap West for an Arabic jazz night, while Shady Ahmed ends the night, and the weekend, with his acoustic tunes at The Tap East.
