It’s shaping up to be another busy weekend across Cairo, as nightlife and cultural venues  continut to get back to normal after adjusted schedules during Ramadan and Eid – like the Garden Nile Front in Manial, which is set to kick off the weekend on Thursday with the house sets of DJ Ayman Nageeb.

Elswhere on the bar front, DJ Ramsi is in charge of the music at the Tap Maadi, while its sister venue in New Cairo, the Tap East, ushers in the weekend with a night of 80s rock.

Cairo Jazz Club, meanwhile, is set to welcome back on of Cairo’s most popular bands, Wust El Balad, while Salalem perform at Downtown’s After Eight and DJ Mash is coming out to play over in Korba at the Garden’s weekly event, Motion.

At the other end of the musical scale, live jazz and blues come courtesy of Mostafa Rizk at Mohandiseen bar, UnderGround, and talented saz player, Abdallah Abozekry, performs at Garden City’s ROOM Art Space.

Never short on events, El Sawy Culturewheel is set to welcome poet, Amr Hassan, for a special performance that brings together poetry and music, while just down the hallway at the Zamalek cultural centre, Aly Qandil leads a night of stand-up comedy.

There’s plenty of events to get stuck into on Friday, too, with one of the highlight gigs of the weekend seeing Alexandria natives, Massar Egabri, perform at El Sawy Culturewheel. Other live music, meanwhile, comes courtesy of Kayan's Sherif El Shazly and Cosmic Architects' Mohamed Sa'eed Sheva, who combine their talents for a special performance at ROOM Art Space, as well as at Zamalek’s 3elbt Alwan hosts El No Talents – a band that fuses music with comedy.

Elsewhere, the rambunctious Screwdriver perform at the Tap in Maadi, while Special K is the man in charge of the music at Cairo Jazz Club’s Friday Fever.

Saturday is considerably quieter, as per usual, but there are still some decent events, including a night of acoustic covers and originals at the Tap Maadi, courtesy of Hamed El Sayeh & Youssef M. El Sioufy. Elsewhere, the increasingly popular Hawas bring their unique neo-pop sound to Cairo Jazz Club, while there’s more at Mohanidseen’s UnderGround, as the bar introduces a new Ladies Night.
