With the conclusion of El Gouna Film Festival this weekend, an exciting series of events steps in, and the fun start today! Whatever your preference, you’ll probably find it in our extensive weekend guide. Just be sure to take a jacket with you on your night out, because weather forecasts call for probable chilly nights. (Finally!)

Thursday starts with a beautiful instrumental folk music performance by El Port-SaidianTanbura Band at Cairo Opera House, right after some south Egyptian Mawali delta songs with Sara El Rawi at Alrab3. We move on to raise the roof at ROOM Art Space New Cairo with its fun Karaoke Night. Violinist Milan Bajovics will also be making an appearance at ROOM Art Space Garden City for a night to remember.

Later on, you can catch DJ Sary at OPIA Cairo for some of his amazing hits; DJ Bakir at The Tap West for some of his coolest pop mixes, and DJs SeifO and Ahmed Eid at Cairo Jazz Club 610 for a night full of heavyweight beats. Then, celebrate the launch of Cairo Jazz Club’s brand new series, “Wall of Sound”, featuring Paul Bergmann and Adam Awad.

Friday resumes strong with the one and only Angham at Cairo Festival City for a special live concert; Nouran Abou Taleb at Darb 1718 for her heartfelt Arabic pop hits; an entertaining open mic night at Ideapsace; and Gravy Train’s homage to Pink Floyd at ROOM Art Space Garden City.

Moving on, DJs Tamer Fouda, Ebbo, and Bass Boss bring their distinctive beats to 24K Lounge; DJ Ayman Nageeb boasts his awesome house rhythms at The Tap East; Agaty sings the night away – acoustic style – at The Tap West; and shaabi legends, Ahmed Sheba and Shaaban Abdelrehim, ensure an iconic evening at Cairo Jazz Club 610.

Saturday wraps up the weekend with ’90s Comedy at ADEF DECA for a comedy showing of some epic movies. Next, Nabil, as well as Eslam, and Minimoosh will show off their amazing vocal abilities at Ideaspace, right before Dine & Jazz night at ROOM Art Space New Cairo to melt your troubles away. A few kilometres away, local band Janan will be at ROOM Art Space Garden City for a memorable pop/rock night.

All celebrating Oktoberfest, The Tap Maadi hosts a Jam Night that cannot be missed; The Tap East brings you Hamed El Sayeh for some groovy acoustic twists; and The Tap West invites you to jazz/rock/oriental performance with Nagham Masry. Finally, Saturday L’Oriental at Cairo Jazz Club features Bahiyya with their unique renditions of contemporary Egyptian folk songs.
