Cairo Weekend Guide: Student DJ Final, Fashion Funds Charity Event, Biking Expo & more!
There’s a refreshing range of events this weekend covering everything parties and gigs, to exhibitions, expos and charity events across the capital.
On Thursday, the Student DJ Finale sees Gaser El Safty and Nour Fahmy go head to head, a night that will also feature Marc Wahba on opening duties, and Finnebassen and HOSH headlining at the Temple. Elsewhere, VENT hosts New York based DJ, Justin Carter for the first Club Night of the month.
A night of rock music awaits at Cairo Jazz Club as The Cadillacs and Screwdriver take to the stage, while Alchemy hosts another of its tequila-fuelled nights, A Tequila Tale of Silver & Gold. Meanwhile, the Roof at the Swiss Inn Hotel in Giza welcomes Finland-based Egyptian DJ, ADRY, for a night of house music.
Elsewhere, DJ Joe leads Boogie Night at Garden City’s Rooftop Lounge, while Massar Egbari perform at El Sawy Culturewheel, while experimental guitar act, Object Obscure, performs at Garden City’s ROOM Art Space and El Tanbura return to El Dammah Theatrer for night of Native Port Said music.
The Biker Zone Expo & Show also kicks off at Cairo Festival City Mall in New Cairo bringing the city's petrol-heads together for a three-day event that’ll also feature live entertainment.
On Friday, Riverdeep returns with Greek duo, Heavy Pins, and DJ Junior on the decks at Riverside, while, VENT welcomes female DJ tag-team Habiba & Zeina to the decks. Meanwhile, it’s Oriental Night at Amici Zamalek and Cairo Jazz Club welcomes DJs Kareem Auf and Miesh for a night of deep house.
Basata Band brings their contemporary Egyptian hits to El Sawy Culturewheel’s Wisdom Hall, while AfroNoubia fuse reggae and Nubian rhythm at the River Hall. Elsewhere, Cavallini pays tribute to all things Levant at Lebanese Night, while Vintage Bar & Lounge welcomes one and all to Karaoke Night.
Later in the evening, Shady Ahmed and Ousso Lotfy perform at Balcon Lounge in Heliopolis, while Mado performs songs from his latest album at El Sawy Culturewheel and Oriental brass band, the Blowers, return to Cairo Jazz Club
The Cairo Symphony Orchestra performs works by Jean Sibelius at the Main Hall of the Cairo Opera House, while Zamalek Gallery, Art Corner, presents new group exhibition,‘Generations’, by Effat Nagy, Esmat Dawestashy and Mohsen A. Fattah.
