It wasn’t a very long week, to be honest, but, nevertheless, we can’t help but feel excited about the weekend. Check out what Cairo has for us in store when it comes to entertainment. Here’s the deal:

Thursday begins with a poetry night at El SawyCulturewheel, where local poet Mohammed El Kafoury takes to Wisdom Hall’s stage to recite some of his works, while it’s a night of classics at ROOM Art Space Garden City, courtesy of The Sinatras who take to the stage to cover various tunes by Frank Sinatra.

When the night grows older, Cairo Jazz Club sees an electro-funk night, where local duo TWOB makes a debut, followed by Neobyrd who takes over the decks for another dose of electronic tunes. Meanwhile at Cairo Jazz Club 610, The 4th edition of Impulse welcomes a lineup of DJs:Moenes, Alex Cruz, and Shawky.

It’s a pop night at The Tap East, where DJ Lyon Avakian is on the menu, and at The Tap West, too, but with DJs Dou, and STZ taking over the decks, while it’s all about R&B and hip-hop at The Tap Maadi, where DJ Mobbz will be spinning some tunes.

It’s a Yemeni music night at Darb 1718 this Friday, where Radio Yemen take to the stage

Arab music institute hosts a gala, where Cairo Opera Company Troupe takes to the stage for a round of classics, while El Sawy Culturewheel’s stand-up comedy night sees local comedian Ali Qandil taking to the stage.

Delving deeper into the night, Strawberry Swing take to the stage at The Tap Maadi, to cover a host of classics by Coldplay, DJ Mohsen Kamel spins some house tunes at The Tap East, and DJ Doggy Dogg drops some R&B and hip-hop beats at The Tap West.

Elsewhere, Cairo Jazz Club 610’s funk music night sees DJs Anis, and MotherFunkers playing a host of hits from the 90s, while Cairo Jazz Club’s electronic night welcomes Kitchen Crowd and Omar Sherif to the decks.

The Tap Maadi hosts a jam night, The Tap West sees songstress Natalie Bichara taking to the stage along with her guitar for a host of acoustic indie covers, while The Tap East welcome DJ Hassan Ramzy on the decks for a round of pop tunes. The weekend comes to an end with rai music band, Rai-Na taking to the stage at Cairo Jazz Club.
