Christmas in Cairo (Take Two): Parties & Events in the City

God bless Egyptian national holidays. While our friends in
the west wave goodbye to the weekend, set their alarms to an unspeakably early
hour and trudge their ways to work on a cold, bitter Monday morning, we’ll be sitting
comfy at home, deciding which of Cairo’s bars and clubs we think will do
Coptic Christmas justice.

It feels like just yesterday that we were celebrating
Christmas on December 25th, sucking more turkey into our bodies than
is healthy. There may not be as much Turkey this time around, but that doesn’t mean
that there aren’t some crucial decisions to make. Here’s a rundown of the best event around Cairo, this Monday.

Choice number one comes at Amici in Zamalek, where a 300LE
entrance fee affords partygoers an open cocktail bar, complimentary mezzas to
nibble on, free bouchon and music courtesy of DJ Simonn. Meanwhile, the
Heliopolis branch of Amici also offers the same 300LE offer, but with DJ Fiko
on the decks.

Elswhere, French House DJ, David Vendetta, will be in the DJ
Booth at Cavallini in Heliopolis, while a 200LE entry at the O Bar’s Winter
Wonderland
serves up DJ Feedo, DJ Goerge Knox and saxophonist, Nour Ashour.
That’s not all from the Fairmont Nile City club, though; a snow machine,
all-white dress code and Santa’s GoGo dancers are the cherry on top.

Meanwhile, Heliopolis nightclub, Roof Bar, welcomes DJ Nader
Nagy
and DJ Fady for a seasonal Christmas party, where the minimum charge is 350LE.

Partners in crime, Almaz and Arabesque, are holding a weird
joint-celebration under the alluring, albeit slightly blasphemous, banner of 7th
Heaven. In Mohandiseen’s Swiss Inn Hotel, Almaz‘s line-up of DJs will be topped
off with a special surprise performance, while Arabesque in Downtown Cairo
promises a rather raunchy belly dancer as part of the entertainment package.

Speaking of Downtown Cairo, After Eight celebrates in a
similar vein, with Habiba the Belly Dancer and DJ Ajmed Saleh anchoring the
night’s entertainment.

Deals Pub 14 in Mohandiseen is embracing the festive spirit
with Deal & Dazzle; a night that promises entertainment and lots of great food.
Speaking of which, the Fairmont Nile City’s restaurants are also serving up
special Christmas menus with a side of live entertainment. Check out the likes
of Saigon Restaurant & Lounge and Napa Grill and book your table with the
Cairo 360’s new reservations feature.

For any scrooges who have exhausted their Christmas spirit
last month, there are also several non-Christmas themed events, the most
notable of which sees Diya Nouman and Youssef Sami return to Cairo Jazz Club for a night of house. Check out the Cairo
360 events
calendar for more.

Happy Christmas!
