The Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, announced yesterday during a press conference that all malls will be closed from 5.00 PM during weekdays, and closed completely on the weekends. Malls across the country responded to the announcement, detailing their working hours that will start from the 25th of March, and wishing people stay healthy and safe.
In line with the government’s decision to enforce a nation-wide curfew, below are our new operating days and hours starting tomorrow March 25”:
- The Mall will operate from 10 AM to 5 PM Sunday to Thursday, with the exception of all restaurants, cafés, entertainment outlets, gym and spa, which will remain fully closed.
- IKEA and Carrefour will operate from 9 AM to 5 PM Sunday to Thursday.
- CFC Mall will be entirely closed on Fridays and Saturdays.
“We encourage you to follow the recommendations of the Egyptian Ministry of Health and the WHO to protect yourselves and your loved ones. Stay safe,” reads an Instagram post by Cairo Festival City (CFC) Mall.
Mall of Arabia in October City, follows similar working hours as CFC’s. It will all be operating from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM on weekdays, and shut down entirely over the weekends.
Genena Mall, in Nasr City, also announced that it will be working during weekdays from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM, and shut down entirely over the weekends.
As for The First Mall in Giza, it will also be opening at 10.00 AM, but closing a little earlier than the other outlets at 4.00 PM. However, the mall will also shut down during the weekends “until further notice.”
Stay safe and self-quarantine as much as you can to protect yourselves and your loved ones!
