A deadly 7.8 magnitude earthquake has left over 5000 dead in Turkey and Syria after it struck the region on Monday, February 6. Unfortunately, the death toll continues to rise, and thousands more were injured following the strongest earthquake to hit Turkey in over 80 years.
Egypt has already stepped in to help as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered its condolences and pledged to send aid to the affected areas, according to Ahram Online. Rescuers have been searching the rubble of collapsed buildings in an effort to locate survivors after this catastrophic event.
