‘Kamel Lametak’ with Pepsi’s Quirky Ramadan Campaign

When it comes to Ramadan traditions, one trumps all – spending time with tens of extended family in the name of lavish fetar, group mosalsalat viewing and maybe even a slice or two (or three) of konafa.

Egyptians need little excuse to come together or the sake coming together, but this year, Pepsi has put a little spin on its message of festive togetherness.

Here’s how it goes; Pepsi’s special Ramadan advert is only available to view on Facebook. But there’s a catch – the commercial is split into three different videos that go on to make up the whole – not in sequence, though. What you need to do is line-up three smartphones next to each other, load one of the videos on each and then press play on all the devices at once.

It’s a quirky move from Pepsi that has gone viral on social media, with users encouraged to take photo of them and their friends of family watching the video on three phones and posting it using the hashtag #يلا_نكمل_لمتنا. The move seems to have struck a chord with users – so much so that even we got in on the act…
