Whether you’re planning a date night or a family outing, there’s something for everyone among this week’s new releases!

The Body

What is it about? The mystery/thriller follows an inspector as he ventures to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of a powerful businesswoman’s body. As he looks for the truth, he finds more than what meets the eye when he questions her husband.

The good: The plotline is intriguing, giving off the thrilling vibes of a Sherlock Holmes mystery, but with a new perspective.

The bad: The film is in Indian, so watching with subtitles might be distracting.

Onward

What is it about? The animation follows teenage elf brothers, who embark on a quest to discover if there is still magic out there. The film stars Chris Pratt, and Tim Holland, and it is directed by Dan Scanlon.

The good: Pratt and Holland’s dynamic chemistry seeps through their vocal performance, and the animation in general.

The bad:The idea that you can bring someone back from the dead can be triggering for those who’ve lost their loved ones.

Primal Rage: The Legend of Konga

What is it about? The horror film follows a newly-reunited young couple, who are forced to face a monstrous creature known as Oh-Mah. Patrick Magee directs the film.

The good: The film enables you to go on a scary adventure through the woods without having to move off your couch.

The bad: This film is not for the faint-hearted, especially if you are afraid of mysterious creatures.
