    If you’re looking to spend a night out at the movies this week, here’s a list of Cairo cinemas’ newest releases. From historical dramas to horror movies, this collection definitely has just what you need for a great movie night.

    The Furnace

    Set in Western Australia in the 1890s, this historical drama, directed by Roderick MacKay, tells the story of an escaped bushman (David Wenham). He pairs up with a young Afghan man (Ahmed Malek) in an attempt to find a secret furnace, where he can remove the mark of the Crown from his stolen gold, all while being chased by a determined police sergeant (Jay Ryan).

    The Father

    Directed by Florian Zeller, this drama follows an older man (Anthony Hopkins) who has dementia. After he refuses his daughter’s (Olivia Colman) fruitless attempts at helping him, he falls into a cycle that causes him to doubt everything and everyone around him, even himself. The film has been nominated for six Academy Awards.

    Crisis

    A drug dealer (Armie Hammer), a university professor (Gary Oldman), and an architect (Evangeline Lilly) find themselves connected through a drug trafficking mission. Directed by Nicholas Jarecki, this crime/ thriller follows the sequence of events as each member of the trio starts uncovering truths about their lives.

    Son

    This horror movie, directed by (Ivan Kavanagh), follows the story of Laura (Andi Matichak), a single mother whose son (Luke David Blumm) becomes mysteriously ill after a strange group of people break into her home. The movie follows the events as Laura does everything she can to keep her son safe.

    Way Down

    After finding out information that a priceless treasure will be held in a safe under the Bank of Spain, Thom (Freddie Highmore), a skilled engineer, forms a plan with a group of expert thieves to break into the safe and steal the artefact, having to work under the pressures of time and stealth.
